TABUK CITY, Kalinga- The Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO) reported  that Balbalan recorded no crime incident in its locality for the whole year of 2009, undisputedly  the most peaceful municipality in the province.

Balbalan Mayor Allen Jesse “Sonny” Mangaoang  said that this development   is attributed to the cooperation of officials and  the people  to maintain peace and order in their communities and the people’s respect to authorities and their law enforcers.

TABUK CITY, Kalinga - After ten months of live air show, the ‘NCCA Kalinga Culture Hour’ radio program over DZRK Radyo ng Bayan Tabuk City culminated with a live presentation of all its best performances showcasing Kalinga dances, instruments and chants last December 27, 2009.

 Among the invited performers were  the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) sponsored School of Living Tradition (SLT) performers such as the SLT of Tanudan, Balbalan and Tabuk; the Guilayon performing group, Massalingga dancers ; and various cultural masters who showcased traditional chants and indigenous instruments playing.

NCCA grants Kalinga P1.9M projects PDF Print E-mail

TABUK CITY, Kalinga - The National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA) granted Php1,919,9100.00 fund for projects promoting culture and arts in Kalinga. 

NCCA Commissioner Domingo Bakilan disclosed this saying that the amount will be used for the 14 approved projects for implementation this 2010.

Granted projects  are eight School of Living Traditions (SLT) projects, three cultural festivals and one radio program.

Job creation lifts economic status of Kalinga PDF Print E-mail

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Local leaders here admitted that jobs created under the Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP) of the Arroyo administration saved the province from the effects of unemployment.

 Though CLEEP did not exactly solved poverty and hunger in Kalinga, local initiatives of these leaders intervened a lot on providing sources of income for the less fortunate and vulnerable sector of society.
